Rifugio Caltena – Cogolade

Departure from the Hotel lobby at 9.30 am with our guide who will bring you by bus to Transacqua. Then you wil pass through a narrow paved road for 4.5 Km in order to get Rifugio Caltena at 1265 m altitude (there you can find a restaurant and rooms).

From that point you will start a nice walk in the wild Val Giasinozza, through a 6 Km forest road surrounded by beeches.

This is followed by ups and downs until you reach the Cocolade hut (1321m) which is unattended but with shops that are always open.

The walk is very relaxing, not so well-known among hikers and turists, and located in front of the mountain range of Sass de Mura and Piz di Sagron.

When coming back you can easily retrace the same way.

This route is suitale for mountain biking and snowshoeing in winter.

Back at the Hotel you can enjoy our delicious homemade cakes and have a cup of tea or hot chocolate.
