Imer –Vederna Mount and Cross of the Alpine
Departure from the Hotel lobby in Trentino at 9.30 am with our guide who will accompany you by bus to Mezzano (650 m), for arriving to Imer. From here follow the signals to the Cappucceto Rosso (675m) where a paved little road (No. 736) that climbs to Vederna starts.
Following this road reach the Pian Grande, with some houses and barns, where you can see a small church of Madonna della Neve, which welcomes in a bucolic place, immersed in nature among wide flowering meadows.
In about 2 hours you arrive at the Vederna Refuge at an altitude of 1324 m where you can rest as it also offers 23 beds but it is open only in summer.
In front of the shelter there is a path with a small fountain and, and following the track higher, climbing as far as the crossroad (1412m) where you turn right, following trail no. 741 until reaching the lawn at an altitude of 1567m.
From here, you continue always towards the East through the lawn, following the traces up to a power line that ends at the great Cross of the Alpine (1567m) that dominates the Valley of Primiero about 1 hour from the refuge.
From the cross, the landscape is unique among beautiful clearings surrounded by mountains and the valley. The way back is all downhill through the same trail. The route is suitable for mountain bike riding, too. Once back at the Hotel you can enjoy a good slice of cake and a hot tea in the bar area.
